Kids Research Center (KRC) is a non-profit focused on children’s literacy and based in New York City. We partner with community-based organizations to bring free literacy programs to children and families in immigrant communities and low-income neighborhoods.
KRC started with an idea to collect books that children had outgrown and redistribute them to children who had no books at home. What was supposed to be one book drive turned into annual book drives, parent workshops, and a children's literacy program. Our programs teach parents how to become reading facilitators and engage children in fun, interactive activities that motivate them to keep learning. Read more about our history here.
To date, KRC’s programs have reached 20 New York and New Jersey neighborhoods. Hundreds of children have gone through our programs and our book drives have placed thousands of books in homes and after school programs that teach vital reading skills.
KRC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable corporation based in New York City.
