Marlene Veloso is the Executive Director of Kids Research Center and has ten years of experience in non-profit management. She served as head literacy specialist at several community centers, where she designed curricula and led educational programs for children. Her programs have achieved tremendous results as she consistently demonstrates ways to transform shy, tentative readers into confident, eager readers. Prior to founding KRC, Marlene was Vice Chairman of Gorilla Repertory Theater Company, produced school and family performances at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and oversaw House Management operations at Lincoln Center. She is an active member of the BPC Neighbor's Association and the Women's National Book Association. Marlene received a Proclamation from the City of Newark for her work in the community. |

Sonya Aizenberg has worked with various non-profit organizations on strategy and financial planning initiatives, including the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and The Battery Conservancy. She has professional experience in children’s books publishing and is passionate about advancing the importance of early childhood literacy. Sonya is Latvian born, fluent in English and Russian, highly active in the New York philanthropic community, and hopes to create opportunities for children of immigrant parents through KRC. |

Raj Bhatia has been working with non-profit organizations over the past 12 years. One of his early experiences was as Vice President of a Rotary Club chapter in India, where he was involved in various aspects of fundraising and event coordination. He has worked closely with children as a tutor, mentor, and as part of a collaborative theater initiative to provide underprivileged children with broader cultural experiences. Raj received his Masters in Business Administration from Fairfield University, where he was the founding member of Fairfield's Graduate Business Association. He is also a member of The Microfinance Club of New York (MFCNY). Raj and his wife Amrita live in New York City and are both actively involved in organizations that help create opportunities for disadvantaged individuals around the world. |
